Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
